Men’s S/S 2017 Collection
Sealup, the Milan-based company that has been a landmark in the design and creation of luxury rainwear and outerwear since 1935, as well as the embodiment of Italian craftsmanship and savoir faire, is presenting its Men’s SS 2017 Collection at Pitti, which centres largely around two concepts:
- “Dressy”, which has been interpreted by Sealup as the modern update of formal, in other words the precision of form. It is made up of “real” raincoats (slim-fit, raglan sleeves, trenches) in “real” fabrics (twisted cottons/nylons, bonded fabrics, silk) with an extremely clean look. Crushed and distressed accents have been eliminated in their entirety, which are commonly used to disguise poor quality and construction and uncertain manufacturing origins.
The result is a clear sense of the intrinsic value of the pieces that are both a joy to behold and a pleasure to touch. These are garments that have been made to be worn, which offer a nice feel, one that is extremely personal and makes you feel “dressy”.

- “The Great Summer”, a capsule collection that is imbued with the atmosphere of the Grand Marinas (Portofino, Deauville, Nantucket, …) that comes in two colours: ochre, like the old raincoats of whalers, and vibrant deep blue. Two fabrics: “heavy duty”, garment-dyed rubberised cotton canvas for the most authentic “weatherproof” pieces, and a lightweight, slub cotton poplin for blouson jackets and blazers.
